Mission & Objective

Established in 2010, The Roswell SciFi & Fantasy Film Fest is the only film making festival dedicated to bringing artists' visions of the universe to the UFO capital of the world. It provides a venue for independent SciFi & Fantasy filmmakers to get their films screened as well as network with some of the best independent Science fiction and fantasy short and feature-length filmmakers in the world. Roswell & SciFi Connection: On July 8th, 1947, the wreckage of an unidentified object was recovered in Roswell, NM. The mysterious nature of the object and the ensuing attempts by various government agencies to minimize the incident led many to believe the craft had incredible significance, from possibly being a top-secret military weapon to it even being a captured extraterrestrial ship. Whatever the truth, the mystery surrounding the incident has captured the imaginations of generations and inspired legions of storytellers to find their own take on the incident. From films and TV shows to books, comic books, and collectibles of all kinds, the crash at Roswell remains one of the great sources of inspiration for imaginations of all kinds.

About the Festival
The Roswell SciFi Film Fest accepts finished films in feature length (running time over 60
minutes) and short length (running time under 60 minutes) for entrance into its film competition. Films should be SciFi, fantasy, thriller, or supernatural in nature and narrative, documentary, or animation in genre.

Entries were opened in the spring of 2022 through a renowned online Film Submission site as usual. We expect films from all over the United States and internationally to be submitted for the competition. The judges will select 30 films for consideration for the awards of Best Film of Festival, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Animated Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Designs, and Best Make-up.

During the viewings you can vote for the Audience Favorite award. The top films will be shown during the Galacticon and on the Roswell Galacticon Website during the following the 2022 UFO Festival Weekend. The $10 Galacticon General admission for Saturday or Sunday of the
Galacticon will cover admission to the film showings.
